about

This is the single saddest song Jared's ever written, even counting the one where all the cute fuzzy animals die. He's always looking to top it.

lyrics

*spoken* listen, cause there’s only so many times I can sing this before I just break down.

asleep by the window
I retreat inside myself,
the excess running down my cheek
it’s hard to breath

I can’t bare that you know.
hopeful generations break.
to see myself alone and weak
it’s hard to breath

and as I watch you turn away
I know that no tear that I shed
and no word that I write and
no chord that I play will ever fill this emptiness
no

sit watching the grass grow
mistakes and second chances
squandered by a thoughtless hand
it burns beneath

I can’t feel my blood flow
watch it run and free itself
from a body not worth making stand
it burns beneath

and as I watch you turn away
I know that no tear that I shed
and no word that I write and
no chord that I play will ever fill this emptiness
no

and as I watch you turn away
I know that everything, everything
everything I worked for was not enough
I deserve no one, and no one deserves me
